One of my goals for 2017 was to publish more of my personal work. What kind of photographer would I be if I didn't document my own life, too??
Last month, Josh and I took the boat out (okay, let's be honest, we take the boat out all the time!) to Anclote Key, one of our favorite little hidden gems in Tampa. We've been going out to Anclote since we were kids - I've got a photograph to prove it! There were days, and still are, when we would go out there just for an hour or two, just to have lunch together. We find a nice shady spot, bury our toes in the sand, and just enjoy each other's company.
These days, life gets busy and we forget to slow down sometimes. Spending an afternoon together on the water is one of my favorite things we do together, and getting the chance to document just a little bit of that time together was fantastic. Josh has been so supportive of my relocation to Tampa (probably because he's there, too!) and reminds me on a daily basis to grab my camera whenever we go somewhere. I'm so thankful for a man like him!
I hope you'll enjoy some of my photographs of Anclote Key! The ocean is one of my favorite things about living in Florida, and having our own little island is really something special. I feel free when I'm on the water. I feel at home. I feel safe.
Also, I'm adding beach weddings to my list of weddings I want to photograph in Florida!
