When I get to photograph beautiful couples that I know, it's just the best! I've known Samantha and Bret for years. We all grew up down the street from each other, went to the same high school (high school sweethearts!!) and rode horses together. Samantha and I actually spent most of our weekends in high school traveling across the southeast barrel racing, which we like to attribute to our friendship. It's easy to get close when you're running around in thirty degree weather in in shorts trying to feed horses.

One of the most important lessons I've learned in life is that real friendships take work. Samantha and I haven't lived in the same state since we graduated from high school, and long distance friendships can be hard! Life gets busy, and I'm blessed that I have a best friend who understands that. We try to visit each other as often as we can, and I look forward to our phone conversations that usually last for hours.

Bret has been a constant in Samantha's life for as long as I can remember. He has always been a huge supporter of her endeavors and even puts up with her being far away while she pursues her doctorate and Ph.D. In veterinary medicine. See, she's beautiful AND smart!

During my last visit to Tampa, I wanted to document a little part of Samantha and Bret's life together. We spent some time at their farm with Samantha's horses and found the prettiest morning light and laughed as we reminisced about our silly high school days and Samantha showed off that pretty diamond ring she got not too long ago.

It's truly an honor to photograph people during such a wonderful time in their lives, and it means the world to me to be able to photograph someone so special to me. Samantha, I love you to pieces and I'm so excited to see the next chapter in your life unfold.
