Alayna and Chad wanted a simple wedding. So they made it happen. Under the shade of one single giant oak tree, Alayna and Chad brought their two families together in a celebration of love that only photographs could do justice for. I wanted to make sure and tell their story in it’s entirety. Alayna and Chad’s three boys are their whole world, and they were a big part of the day. Alayna’s son filled the house with contagious laughter from the moment he walked in the door, and his affection for Alayna was so touching. Chad’s two sons hammed it up for me all day long, and I even ran into fellow wedding photographer and friend Josh Gull (with his beautiful wife and daughter!) and Amanda Purcell – remember that woman that did my amazing branding?
"The moments when I look in your eyes are the best because I know I definitely love you more than any other."
Everything about Alayna and Chad’s wedding was significant. Alayna created her own wedding cake, along with all of the incredible pies for the desert table. Chad’s boutonniere was handcrafted from an old camera lens, and the three boys’ boutonniere’s were created using old film strips. Alayna’s mother cooked all of the food at the reception and also designed and sewed Alayna’s gorgeous lace wedding dress, as well as the tree painting that all of their guest’s signed. I can’t even begin to express how excited weddings like this make me. I love feeling like a part of the day, getting to know all of the guests and enjoying what I do for a living. Shooting weddings has never felt like a job to me, and I’m so blessed to be able to say that I love what I do with every bone in my body, and it’s because of couples like Alayna and Chad that I continue to feel that way. Thank you both for that.
